Google Slides Smackdown

Good Afternoon Class,        The topic that I chose for my Smackdown Presentation is Google Slides. Now what is Google Slides? Google Slides is a presentation program that was included as part of the free, web-based Google Docs Editors suite which is offered by Google. There are other programs that are associated with Google Slides, and they are Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Drawings, Google Forms, Google Sites, and finally Google Keep. All of these programs are offered by Google. Google Slides lets you create and format presentations and be able to work with other people.           Google Slides has slight advantages then PowerPoint. Google Slides has 26 templates to chose from, while PowerPoint only has 19. Google Slides is free to use, while PowerPoint you may need to purchase the software or subscribe to Office 365 in order to access these features.      Good Evening Class,  I chose my Social Media Etiquette Project on Kanye West. The reason why I chose Kanye West for my project would be that he had become a bit of a media star for all the wrong reasons. Kanye West is one of best hip hop artists of all time and there is no denying that. It is what he does outside of the music industry that gets him headlined on the news. Social Media is such a huge part of today's society, and there are people who use it for their benefit, while there are others who use it for the wrong reasons. Everyone has the right for free speech, but there are certain limits that come with it. Over the past couple years, Kanye has been more and more involved in the media for the wrong reasons. In my presentation, I will demonstrate just some of Kanye's most controversial moments.

Good/Bad Website Smackdown

  Good Evening Class.  For my good/bad website smackdown I am choosing Stock X as my good website and FlightClub as my bad website. You may ask why am I choosing these websites. One of my hobbies since I have been in 7th grade was collecting sneakers and having my own sneaker collection. My older brother got me into sneakers, and as I grew up I always wanted my own collection. Over the years, I have established a sneaker collection that I am proud of. I figured why not share one of my hobbies with you guys and if you are interested in buying sneakers I will try and help you and explain to you why I think Stock X is a great website to use, and why I do not like to use FlightClub.  Stock X is an online  Marketplace to Buy and sell your sneakers at a great price. Chapter 4 Blog

Good evening class,  Hope everyone had a Happy Halloween. After reading Chapter 4 of the Connected Educator it made me think about a couple of things. The chapter first starts off on how you may change your values and beliefs to create a connected learning with other people. You not only give someone else a different perspective of what you are thinking, but you also gather different information of what others think. This chapter also focuses on "Putting Relationships First". What they mean by this is having a strong and positive relationship gives you opportunities to build relationships and expand them. I think it is very important in having a strong and positive relationship because it means that you and them are on the same page and if you disagree with something you talk it out and work it out. Blog 3 - Chapter 5

Good Morning Class,  I n ch apter 5 you will read and learn about how to promote and how to have success in your networking. One term that they point out in chapter 5 is "bookmarking". They define bookmarking as a way to organize the content that you search online an d grouping it together. The content that you search online can include either websites, pictures, and blogs that you can access. Also in chapter 5 they discuss an example of bookmarking and the example that they use is called Dingo. The app Dingo is a very helpful app if you decide to use it, and the brief rundown of Dingo is that it is an app to help you gather information from different websites and store it on your computer. Before starting this class I have never used blogger before, but since I have started using it, not only am I gathering information on different subjects, but I am learning new things from people who have a different stance on the subject than I do. Blog 2 - Chapter 6

 Good Morning,      There are people who set goals to achieve what and where they want to be. Others don't set goals, and sometimes have trouble finding what they want to do and where they would like to be. One term that was brought up was Networking. Now what is Networking? NetWorking is  is  t he exchange of information and ideas among people with a common profession or special interest, usually in an informal social setting . With Networking you not only provided people with your idea on the topic, but you also gather other opinions on the topic. With this it makes you think about how your idea may be the same as the others, or how it may be different than others. We have so many helpful tools now then we did before. We can use these tools and the knowledge that we have we can go as far as we try.
